Todd and Duncan Ltd is based in Kinross, we are one of the the world leaders in the production of cashmere yarn.

The role is Full time and is an alternating shift pattern:

Week of Days ( Monday to Friday)

Week of Backs ( Monday to Friday)

Week of Nights ( Sunday to Thursday)

Overview


We are seeking a skilled and innovative Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical knowledge and be adept at system design. This role involves working on various engineering projects, employing advanced tools and methodologies to develop efficient solutions. The Mechanical Engineer will play a crucial role in troubleshooting, optimising designs, and ensuring the functionality of mechanical systems.

Responsibilities



Implementing planned and corrective maintenance on all mechanical/production equipment within the mill operation in a safe and competent manner, to safeguard the availability and operating condition so that production targets can be achieved. Ensure essential mechanical equipment is maintained for maximum availability. Interpret condition monitoring surveys and operating parameters of equipment identify early performance deterioration and take the necessary action to prevent plant shutdown. Diagnose and rectify faults to enhance maximum availability. Collect data and information required for condition monitoring and preventative maintenance. Carry out planned maintenance program on a wide range of equipment with emphasis on compressor, generators, diesel engines & pumps. Install and commission new equipment as directed. Accurately input information into the Maintenance Management System. Maintain comprehensive record and logs. Assist other trades and disciplines as required within the limits and capabilities and experience. Work carried out, follows statutory and company procedures. Ensure all work permits are in place before commencing work and are cleared on completion before reinstatement.

Candidates require :



Educated to ONC level or equivalent, successfully completed a recognised apprenticeship. Previous industrial experience in manufacturing as a mechanical engineer To be familiar with and have an understanding of the Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policies. Ability to deploy engineering & operational standards / procedures that meet both regulatory and safety standards. Ability to identify, investigate, audit and control technical change (within limit of discipline knowledge). Ability to undertake work to meet acceptance criteria with respect to safety, technical integrity, cost and schedule. Clear, fluent and expressive use of verbal and written language to convey information and ideas. Requirement to raise any non-conformance to Foreman in timely fashion. Awareness of project / planning engineer's activities. Input into project /asset plans as required. Awareness of completing all works within budget and schedule. Ability to provide guidance and motivation to co-workers.
