Job Overview


We are seeking x2 skilled Mechanical Engineer to join a team based in Leeds for 3-6 months work.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical principles and demonstrate proficiency in various engineering software and tools. This role involves designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components, ensuring they meet specified requirements and standards.

Will also require an IPAF to work at heights and CSCS Card.

Duties



Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues in mechanical systems and implement effective solutions. Utilise Simulink for system modelling and simulation to enhance design accuracy. Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to develop automation solutions for mechanical processes. Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards in the design and inspection of components. Create detailed designs using SolidWorks, ensuring all specifications are met. Develop scripts and algorithms using MATLAB for data analysis and system optimisation. Demonstrate comprehensive mechanical knowledge to support the design and development of new products. Interpret schematics to assist in troubleshooting and system integration tasks. Employ CAD software for drafting and modelling mechanical components and assemblies. Use LabVIEW for data acquisition, instrument control, and automation of testing processes. Participate in system design reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

Skills



Proficient in root cause analysis techniques for problem-solving within mechanical systems. Experience with Simulink for modelling complex systems effectively. Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation applications. Familiarity with GD&T principles to ensure precision in engineering designs. Expertise in SolidWorks for 3D modelling and design tasks. Competence in MATLAB for numerical computing and algorithm development. Strong mechanical knowledge applicable to various engineering challenges. Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately for effective troubleshooting. Proficiency in CAD software for creating detailed engineering drawings. Experience with LabVIEW for managing instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
