Purpose of Role


VINCI Facilities is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Defence estate team in London. This is a key role ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of mechanical systems across a high-security environment. The position offers the opportunity to work within a respected facilities management company on a critical government site.


As a Mechanical Engineer within the Defence estate, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of a range of mechanical systems and equipment. You will play a vital part in maintaining operational readiness, ensuring all works meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance with VINCI Facilities' procedures and Defence estate requirements.

Responsibilities


Carry out planned preventive and reactive maintenance on a variety of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and plant equipment.

Diagnose faults and perform effective repairs to minimise downtime.

Ensure all tasks comply with Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) standards and site-specific procedures.

Record all maintenance activities accurately and maintain up-to-date documentation.

Work closely with other engineering disciplines and contractors to deliver seamless service.

Provide technical advice and support to colleagues and stakeholders as required.

Essential Qualifications/Skills


Experience: Proven background in a mechanical engineering role, with a strong understanding of building services or facilities maintenance.

Security Vetting: DV (Developed Vetting) clearance is essential due to the sensitive nature of the Defence estate.

Qualifications: Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent recognised certification).

HSEQ Training: Demonstrable commitment to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to work independently or as part of a team.

Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
