As a Mechanical Engineer you will be part of a team that undertakes various mechanical based activities onsite including the installation, refurbishment and maintenance of Ventilation plant on our clients premises.
Role and responsibilities
To assist the Lead Engineer or Supervisor with all engineering work.
To learn and understand how to flatpack all VES units
To learn and understand refurbishment projects
To ensure that information given internally and externally is entirely satisfactory for all others to understand
To represent VES at all times in a professional manner.
Main Activities
To ensure all site paperwork is read before starting a project, this to include all health and safety documents and working procedures.
To ensure that any health and safety requirements given for the particular site are adhered to
To assist with the flatpack installations of all VES air handling units.
To assist with the refurbishment projects on all air handling units including but not limited to replacement of fans, motors, coils, EHB's, filters, cleaning and painting.
To assist with the internal field wiring of components within air handling units.
To assist with the field wiring of speed controllers to VES air handling units only. (Others to terminate cabling and connect the main power supply).
To ensure all sites are left clean and tidy.
To ensure the contracts are completed correctly and fully in accordance with specification, along with the company's procedures and Quality manual.
To ensure that all information collected from site is recorded accurately and that this information is passed back to the relevant engineer within the office.
To be flexible within the department at all times.
To be aware of any Health and Safety hazard, this would constitute seeing anything that could be remotely dangerous/hazardous and to report this immediately to your line manager and/or Company Manager, Executive or Director.
To carry out planned maintenance visits on HVAC equipment, including cleaning and painting of units.
To ensure that hire equipment is looked after and is kept as secure as possible, when items are finished with report back to the internal office to ensure off hiring occurs. Wherever possible hire equipment to be left with the site contact if collection cannot happen during our time on site.
To be flexible within the department at all times.
To be aware of any Health and Safety hazard, this would constitute seeing anything that could be remotely dangerous/hazardous and to report this immediately to the nearest Company Manager, Executive or Director.
Confidentiality must be maintained at all times in line with terms and conditions of employment.
Flexible working hours and possible some overnight stays and weekend work.
Electrical experience is desired. Work on site inclusive of but not limited to, containment installation, controls field wiring, control panel modifications, condition inspections and electrical commissioning.
