Mechanical Engineer - Pharmaceutical Project (Surrey)
Salary: 90,000-95,000 + Car + Accommodation + Benefits
Location: Surrey, UK
Role Type: Full-time, Site-Based
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a major pharmaceutical construction project in Surrey. The role involves supporting mechanical installation, coordination, quality, and project delivery within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and support mechanical systems installation, including piping, HVAC, utilities, and process equipment
• Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and mechanical construction documentation
• Assist in mechanical design reviews and coordinate with design teams through the RFI process
• Produce mechanical material take-offs, equipment schedules, and technical submissions
• Monitor site progress against programme and issue mechanical progress reports
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure mechanical works are delivered to specification and schedule
• Conduct quality inspections, snagging, and compliance checks for all mechanical elements
• Support commissioning teams with testing, handover documentation, and system readiness
• Maintain document control for all mechanical-related project information
• Undertake additional duties as required by project management

What We're Looking For

• Strong technical understanding of mechanical engineering within construction
• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, life science, or other highly regulated sectors (preferred)
• Good commercial awareness relating to mechanical packages
• Knowledge of HSE systems, mechanical standards, and industry regulations
• Excellent coordination and communication skills
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors
