We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer at our site in Plymouth, who wants to shape the future of advanced optics.

Main duties;



Design and develop precision-engineered solutions using SolidWorks and engineering analysis tools Read and interpret technical drawings, creating detailed designs and specifications Work closely with Process Engineers to ensure designs meet both production and project requirements Manage and coordinate engineering projects to ensure on-time delivery of components and systems Design and implement tooling and equipment modifications that improve safety, reliability, and throughput Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve complex design challenges Support installation, testing, and commissioning of new or modified equipment Prepare accurate costings for tooling and engineering work to support customer quotations Deliver internal and external reports, documentation, training, and presentations Uphold G&H values and ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards

Ideal candidates will have the following;



HNC/HND or higher in Mechanical Engineering Minimum 5 years' experience in a mechanical engineering role, preferably within manufacturing or a high-precision environment Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks Experience managing engineering projects and coordinating across teams Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, and change control processes Excellent communication and documentation skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to work High attention to detail and a methodical mindset A commitment to continuous improvement and customer focus
