As a Mechanical Engineer, you\'ll utilise your skills and background to positively shape solutions that holistically balance innovation, value for money, and resilience.
This role will help to contribute to driving down our embedded and operational carbon footprint by maximising energy-efficient solutions developed within an environment that encourages collaboration across a range of technical and commercial disciplines.

What you\'ll be doing as a Mechanical Engineer

  • Collaborating with a diverse range of internal stakeholders including Engineering, Asset Management, and Operations to shape solutions such that they are fit for purpose, positively influencing the balance of innovation, value for money and resilience.
  • This role also requires extensive collaboration with, and assurance of, consultants and contractors supporting the delivery of often large, complex capital projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations, as well as our policies, standards, and expectations so that solutions are delivered safely, meeting the technical and environmental requirements of the Project Brief.
  • Actively supporting Thames Water\'s \'triple zero\' Health, Safety and well-being vision (zero incidents, zero harm, zero compromise) by carrying out audits and reviewing Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Identifying and supporting the management of delivery risks and opportunities.
  • Contributing to the creation of Project Briefs and responding to RFIs.
Hybrid role which can be based on a variety of locations including - Maple Lodge, Clearwater Court, Guildford Sewage Treatment Works, or Hampton Coal Wharf
36 hours a week Monday to Friday
We are open to full-time and part-time applications for this role.

What you should bring to the role
  • Be educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering
  • Significant background working in a design and construction-related role
  • Awareness of applying Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015)
  • Have detailed technical knowledge and expertise within your discipline and the ability to work with a range of engineering disciplines to create fully operational solutions.
