Job Description

Howdens is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team at our Runcorn site in Cheshire. With significant investment underway, it's an ideal time to join our team and be part of our exciting growth journey.



In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting proactive and preventative maintenance across filtration, boilers and extraction. You'll also contribute to continuous improvement projects and provide support for reactive maintenance when needed

Pay rate and shift pattern:

49,263.24 per annum 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, 6:45am - 3:00 pm

What will you be doing as a Mechanical Engineer:

Proactive and preventative maintenance Reactive breakdown maintenance Continual improvement projects Ownership and development of specific facilities areas, 5S, Boiler compliance

What do you need to qualify for the Mechanical Engineer:

Experience in a facilities role, including Boilers, Pressure Vessels, Blow lines and associated equipment. Knowledge and experience of high-volume automated manufacturing equipment, LEV systems. Time served mechanical Engineer, with extensive fitting/fabrication skills. Fault finding, root-cause analysis and corrective actions Experience of pneumatics, hydraulics and extraction systems is desirable Experience with computerised maintenance management systems and the development of maintenance tasks is desirable Multi-skilled or willing to learn electrical safety including 18th edition and fault finding
