About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical / Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing MEP (Building Services) team in Plymouth.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale, sustainable building projects across multiple sectors including commercial, residential, heritage, and industrial. You will lead the day-to-day technical delivery of mechanical design services, oversee high-quality design outputs, and mentor junior team members, contributing to their professional development.
You will work in a collaborative environment, delivering intelligent, sustainable designs that support our clients' net-zero ambitions and enhance the built environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead mechanical design services on multi-disciplinary building projects.
Produce and review design deliverables including specifications, drawings, and schedules.
Oversee technical quality and ensure compliance with project requirements.
Support commercial success through invoicing, WIP management, and resource planning.
Mentor junior engineers, graduates, and apprentices, fostering career development.
Collaborate with architects, multidisciplinary teams, and clients to deliver innovative solutions.
Apply BIM processes and Revit software for design production and coordination.
Required Skills:
Proven experience as a Mechanical or Senior Mechanical Engineer in the UK.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and MEP solutions across varied building sectors.
Experience with BIM processes and tools, including Revit.
Collaborative mindset with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
Strong problem-solving and project management capabilities.
Educational Qualification:
HNC, HND, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
Chartered status (or working towards it) preferred.
Relevant professional certifications advantageous.
