Skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Adventure Island is a family run Fun Park based in Southend on Sea. We are part of the Stockvale Group.

Adventure Island are currently seeking a time served Mechanical Engineer to work in an exciting environment.

About the role:

You will be part of a multi skilled Maintenance team.

In this role you are responsible, as part of a well-trained and competent team, for opening and maintaining 34 rides that we have across our park.

You will receive training on a wide range of rides and equipment to be able to support every element of the ride maintenance, ensuring safety is president.

You will be conducting planned, preventative, reactive and corrective maintenance activities including ride opening safety checks, daily, weekly, monthly & annual maintenance regimes. Attend any ride stoppages, all the while providing mechanical expertise to assist develop and improve ride performance.

You will be expected to be flexible & work on various facility units within a great team

We are looking for the following skills and experience.

About you:

Previous Maintenance experience essential

A 'Can do' attitude with endless energy and enthusiasm for the role.

*Completed a recognised mechanical apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline and hold a

minimum ONC, level 3 BTEC / G&G

Post apprenticeship experience within a maintenance engineering environment

Inspection experience would be beneficial, but not essential

Experience of planned, preventative maintenance & safe systems of work.

Experience of working within a safety critical environment

The ability to read mechanical drawings

The ability to display problem solving & diagnostic skills

Whilst experience of working within a Theme park / fun park would be advantageous, engineering experience in other fields are equally suitable.

Be fluent in the local language enough to understand technical terminology & to communicate with fellow colleagues.
