Job Summary



Mechanical Design Engineer with experience of working with live customer focused projects, responsible for designing gas, hydraulic and process systems from first principles. You will produce instrumentation pipe-work schematics (P&ID's), fabrication drawings, system designs and GA drawings in both 2D and 3D CAD packages and liaise with customers to outline design concepts.




Responsibilities


To be an operational member of the design team to ensure systems are delivered on time and to specification. Concept system design including circuits, pumps, tooling and fabrication. Produce engineering calculations to ensure specifications are met including: - General understanding of thermodynamics, general understanding of mechanical design and calculations, good knowledge of material compatibility, flow through valves and pipework, volumetric pressure calculations and power consumption calculations. Produce detailed drawings, general arrangement drawings, P&ID drawings and bill of materials using AutoCAD Inventor. Compiling component specifications and verification in accordance with operating environment. Complete engineering and project documentation to ensure continued compliance with ISO standards and CE marking directives. Lead on design reviews to communicate system design to full project team. Creating technical files and data books including: - PED technical files, ATEX/IECEx technical files, and customer specific quality documentation.



Basic Qualifications/Experience


An appropriate Engineering related degree is essential. Previous relevant experience is also essential.

The Mechanic Design Engineer position is a full-time permanent role based at the Sunderland Facility.
