Mechanical Engineer

This is an exciting role for a driven and enthusiastic Multi skilled Engineer. You will have a proactive approach and will ideally have experience of working in a fast paced food, or wider FMCG manufacturing environment, where you have consistently delivered and met deadlines.

You will have strong communication skills and be able to influence a culture of continuous improvement. Your passion for operations is combined with honed communication skills and an ability to build strong relationships, ensuring that production runs on time and to specification.

As well as leading the way to success, you will also need to balance efficient manufacturing processes, process improvements, working to KPIs, GMP standards, food safety and health and safety.

Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities include:

Maintaining our production machinery Liaising with machinery manufacturers to bring about a fix Driving a culture of behavioural based Health & Safety Reducing changeover times Reducing operational downtime Standardising running speeds through continuous improvement initiatives Reducing waste

Maintenance Responsibilities:

Inspecting machinery, equipment, buildings and systems Improving turnaround times for on-site general maintenance issues Completing small repairs such as fixing locks, leaky taps, and a wide variety of general maintenance and repair tasks Checking and maintaining safety equipment inspecting and troubleshooting problems and issues overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary Keeping a maintenance log and reporting any problems to the relevant department Maintaining tools and equipment required to perform the role effectively Inspecting buildings, grounds and equipment for any issues or damages Performing preventative maintenance and basic repairs on equipment, appliances and structures designing and developing improvements to existing processes

Required/ Preferred skills:

FMCG (minimum 2 years) Experience working in a fast paced, growing company Working inside tight deadlines Ability to prioritise and adapt
