Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Manager to oversee and manage various mechanical projects from conception through to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in using tools such as CAD and MATLAB. This role requires excellent leadership skills, the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.

Duties

Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and specifications. Develop and review schematics and system designs to ensure they meet project requirements. Utilise CAD software for design purposes and to create detailed project documentation. Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues and implement effective solutions throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with engineers and technicians to integrate logic controllers and other mechanical systems into project designs. Employ tools such as Simulink, LabView, and MATLAB for simulations and testing of mechanical systems. Ensure compliance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards in all designs. Provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Proven experience in mechanical project management or a similar role within the engineering sector. Strong proficiency in CAD software, Simulink, LabView, MATLAB, and other relevant engineering tools. Demonstrated ability in system design and implementation of logic controllers. Excellent analytical skills with a focus on root cause analysis methodologies. Solid understanding of GD&T principles and their application in mechanical design. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred but not essential if experience is substantial.
