Due to our expanding operations, Rawwater are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician, with Site Attendance part of the role. You will collaborate with engineering colleagues, undertaking development iterations to result in a successful leak sealing offering, fully optimised for deployment on customer sites. You will undertake deployment of engineering solutions on customer sites and work towards supervision of small site teams.

Responsible for building replicas of customer infrastructure using sources such as 3D CAD models, WIDAR scans and measurements, you will test our sealing solutions (M3 leak sealing - casting and spraying) on these replicas. You will be responsible for creating other technical scenarios, test facilities and structures to align with customer and internal projects. You will participate in project meetings, feeding back your technical observations and making suggestions for improvements.

PRINCIPAL TASKS:



Collaborate with the engineering team to find and implement iterative improvements to the chosen M3 leak sealing solution, resulting in a site-ready leak sealing solution for our customer.

Visits to customer sites for measurement or deployment purposes (approx twice a month, for between 1 and 5 days), working to customer site rules and (following training) supervise site teams where required.

Interpret CAD models, WIDAR scans, measurements, photographs and drawings to enable accurate replica fabrication.

Use appropriate hand / power tools to construct rigs, equipment, scenarios and structures, including pressurised and heated systems for solution testing purposes.

Undertake tests of the chosen M3 leak sealing solution on the customer replica, recording findings and test results using data acquisition software and Excel.

Interpret test outcomes and suggest and implement practical improvements of the solution until site ready.

Prepare for site work through writing or involvement in RAMS and practical preparation including equipment checks.

Deliver final solution you have driven development of onto customer sites, prioritising safety and quality.

Working within, and contributing to EHS&Q systems, including accurate understanding and sharing of safety information.

General testing of scenarios and solutions as required by project teams.

Participate in project progress meetings, and design reviews, feeding back your technical observations and making suggestions for improvements.

Undertaking a variety of tasks within your capability, at the request of the Engineering Team Lead.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, QUALITIES, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS



Understanding of engineering principles and an ability to translate them into actions and decisions to enable safe working in a range of environments.

Accountability for your own site safety, performance and conduct.

Can make calm decisions when faced with unexpected or challenging scenarios

Experience of installation of engineering solutions on customer sites.

Ability and qualities to undertake training, learn, and lead a small site team.

Genuine enthusiasm for engineering, and an enquiring mindset.

Mechanical qualification such as an HNC or similar, or past experience.

Hands- on mechanical experience in a workshop or similar environment.

Proficient with a range of hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery.

Ability to interpret and work to engineering drawings and CAD models.

Exacting standards, accuracy and an attention to detail approach, including housekeeping and record keeping

Good written and verbal communication, and ability to understand and disseminate safety information effectively.

Collaborative with good interpersonal skills.

Flexible, adaptable attitude, and ability to work in a small team.

Ownership of the whole workstream, and ability to progress the engineering from concept to fruition, meeting quality standards.

Working experience of Risk Assessments, compliance with H&S systems.

IT proficient - Microsoft Word, Excel, Email.

PREFERABLE EXPERIENCE



Work with pressure systems including an understanding of pressurised and fluid control systems and process control/monitoring equipment.

2D or 3D CAD experience.

Knowledge of pipes and fittings.

Experience working in high hazard site environments.

Knowledge of energy, nuclear, water or defence industries.
