Salary: Up to 55,000 + 6,000 Car Allowance + Heavily Incentivised Bonus Structure

About the Company
Our client is a well-established M&E subcontractor based in Manchester, specialising in mechanical installations for commercial developments. They work closely with Design & Build main contractors, delivering projects to the highest standards. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Mechanical-biased Estimator to join their expanding pre-construction team.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Mechanical Estimator with strong HVAC experience to take full ownership of the estimating process from start to finish. You'll be working from a blank canvas, interpreting client requirements, and producing accurate and competitive tenders for mechanical packages - primarily focusing on bathroom and shower room installations within commercial buildings.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end estimating process for mechanical works (predominantly HVAC and plumbing).

• Review tender documentation and develop cost plans and detailed estimates.

• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate pricing and value engineering options.

• Prepare detailed tender submissions and assist in post-tender negotiations.

• Work closely with the project delivery team to ensure seamless handover.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.

About You

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the building services/M&E sector.

• Strong background in HVAC systems and mechanical packages for commercial projects.

• Experience pricing works for Design & Build main contractors.

• Comfortable working autonomously and building pricing from scratch.

• Ideally has previously run their own business or managed projects independently - entrepreneurial mindset preferred.

• Based within 30 minutes of Manchester, as this is an office-based position.

• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
