ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client provides fast-track mechanical and electrical fit-out services for a diversity of sectors exclusively in London, using the latest building techniques and software such as 3D modelling, prefabrication and modularisation to provide fault-free, seamless project delivery. With a turnover already in excess of \xc2\xa370m per annum our client is looking to add to their existing team to facilitate naturel growth, having already established long term relationships with some of the leading names in Construction based on successful delivery, profitability and a high standard of workmanship.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is looking to add to their existing Commercial team with an Intermediate/Senior Mechanical Estimator. The position will require a candidate of experience (ideally 5 years of practical Estimating experience) able to work autonomously as well as within a team. As this is a long term position candidates ideally should be local and within reasonable commute. Experience within Residential, Healthcare, Commercial and Education projects will be extremely advantageous.

Responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, obtaining all information required to successfully bid and win the project. To manage all costs relating to projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures; seeking to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. To keep track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and create reports to show profitability.

  • preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client;
  • undertaking costs analysis for repair and maintenance project work;
  • assisting in establishing a client\xe2\x80\x99s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies;
  • performing risk and value management and cost control;
  • advising on procurement strategy;
  • identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks;
  • preparing and analysing costing\'s for tenders;
  • seeking funding sources and submitting bids;
  • attend site meetings
  • providing advice on contractual claims;
  • analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports;
  • maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use;
  • carrying out feasibility studies;
  • writing reports
  • making valuations;
  • providing advice and forecasts about costs;
  • working within the health and safety regulations;
REQUIREMENTS
  • Preferred, HNC or BTEC in Building Services or equivalent
  • Must have minimum 5 years Mechanical Estimating experience, with packages in excess of \xc2\xa38m
  • Technically competent with a good understanding of Mechanical installation methods and pricing
  • Strong mathematical and IT skills
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Bill soft and estimate

Salary will be agreed with each individual on a case-by-case basis depending on previous experience. As a rough guideline I will be targeting individuals whose annual salary is within \xc2\xa345 to \xc2\xa355K you will also receive a company works package.
