Job Specification: Mechanical Facilities Maintenance Technician
The Opportunity
Join a leading manufacturing facility in Slough as a Mechanical Facilities Maintenance Technician and play a critical role in keeping high-performance equipment operating at its best. This is a hands-on position where no two days are the same--one moment you'll be carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), the next you'll be solving challenging breakdowns that keep production moving. What You'll Be Doing
Keep the site moving: Carry out PPM and rapid-response repairs on essential mechanical plant.
Work with precision: Maintain and repair air handling units, fan coil units, calorifiers, steam/pressure systems, fans, pumps, and plumbing.
Be the go-to expert: Use your fault-finding skills to tackle issues quickly and minimize downtime.
Collaborate with others: Coordinate and supervise subcontractors to ensure first-class safety and quality.
Stay organised: Keep accurate records of all work and materials.
Make an impact: Deliver reliable, professional service to internal teams and clients.
What We're Looking For
A solid mechanical background with strong fitting and fault-finding skills.
Experience working with air and water services, pressure systems, and general plumbing.
Someone proactive, reliable, and ready to take ownership of tasks.
Great communication skills and a calm approach under pressure.
Apprentice-trained with mechanical qualifications preferred (or equivalent hands-on experience).
A full UK driving licence and willingness to work occasional paid overtime.
