Mechanical Fitter - UK various Locations - 16.00 - 18.00 per hour

Bates & Bradshaw are recruiting for a privately owned multi-disciplined mechanical engineering company which was established in 2010 who are looking to grow continually.

We are looking to recruit experienced, or time served Mechanical Fitters to work on a wide range of engineering projects. You will find yourself working in very industrial environments working long hours, in uncomfortable conditions and in high temperatures but you will be well remunerated for your work.

You will be working as part of a team taking on Installation, Decommissioning and movement of machinery within fully functioning plants. As part of the process, you will also be installing be installing steelwork and ducting as per the drawings.

Due to us working at various locations in the UK, we also carry out projects across Europe too so some travel will be required.

You may also find yourself working away from home regularly, this may include weekends, again as and when required, totalling around 22 days per month including weekends.

Role Requirements

Conveyor Installations Steelwork / Piping / Ducting Installations You ideally be able to interpret technical drawings. Install various sized ductwork for extraction and ventilation. Be able to strip and assemble mechanical components Machinery movement and re-location Inspecting the workplace, clearing obstructions, and preparing materials and equipment Welding experience Full UK Driving Licence

Working Hours & Overtime

Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm (Core Hours)
This role will see you working over our core hours due to the nature of the work, however most days you will work 10 hours days (8 Standard Hours and 2 Overtime Hours, all weekend work is Overtime - Time and a Half)

You will find yourself working away from home regularly, this may include weekends, again as and when required

Rates

Basic Hourly Rate - 16 - 18 per hour Overtime Rate - 24 - 27 per hour (Over 8 Hours & Weekends) Overnight allowance - 20 rising to 28 after 13 weeks

Shifts

This is variable depending on work and where the company is working (Scotland / M62 Corridor / M18 Corridor / Harlow / Europe)

12 Days Working Away (Travel Back Friday Afternoon / Weekend Off) 5 Days Away (Travel Back on Friday Afternoon) 5 Days Locally (Home every night)
