Gates (U.K) Ltd are looking for a:

MECHANICAL FITTER

Gates (U.K.) Ltd is a major international company specialising in the production of Power Transmission belts for the automotive and industrial markets. Our continuing success has resulted in the following four challenging positions in our Dumfries Plant.

Reporting directly to our Mechanical Engineer, you are responsible for carrying out maintenance, fault finding and development of mechanical systems with specific emphasis on the disciplines activities listed below, with Health & Safety and Environmental considerations to the fore:

Process machinery Boiler operations High pressure steam systems Hydraulics Pneumatics
Working hours are defined by the relevant shift pattern.

Required Experience:

Educated to City & Guild or HNC Level or equivalent (Mechanical) and be a time-served fitter. Ideally will have held a similar role within a manufacturing environment post qualification.

Required Skills:

Highly proficient in steam, hydraulic and pneumatic systems Logical approach to fault finding and problem solving, with a focus on issue prevention. A working knowledge of PLC's is desirable
