We are now hiring for a

Mechanical Fitter t

o join the team in

Dumfries, Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:

Performing routine planned and reactive maintenance to ensure machinery runs efficiently Diagnosing faults and repairing or replacing defective parts Assembling mechanical components and systems Aligning and fitting parts in accordance with technical drawings and specifications Understanding technical drawings, and manuals to guide installations and repairs. Conducting performance tests on machinery. Inspecting components for wear and tear or potential failure. Operating hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Working with welding, grinding, and cutting equipment when needed. Following health and safety regulations. Ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and environmentally responsible manner Keeping records of maintenance and repairs. Reporting issues to supervisors or engineers Working closely with engineers, electricians, and other tradespeople. Supporting project teams during machinery upgrades or installations

Person Specification:

Time-served trades-person ideally in a plant-based role or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience, Capable of assessing a job and appropriately applying your experience to it, even if the precise requirements of the job are new to you, Capable of problem solving and 'thinking on your feet' Supportive of company policies, including QM & H&S systems Supportive of company values of integrity, fairness & honesty Flexible in your approach to work Able to work well under pressure

Salary & Benefits:

Commensurate with experience - Hourly Rate Access to a range of employee discounts Working week hours - Monday to Friday 07:30 to 15:30 On-site parking Occasional Overtime to support reactive breakdowns and planned outages

Pay: 28,000.00-36,000.00 per year
