Overview:
Heights UK Ltd is an established design / manufacturer of bespoke machinery based in Halifax (HX2). We have an excellent reputation for producing quality equipment for our partners within the Graphic Arts industry, alongside supplying a diverse range of bespoke equipment to a variety of industries in the UK and worldwide.
We are looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join our team, who will play a vital role, supporting our R&D department and to work alongside our existing Mechanical / Electrical Assemblers and Apprentices.
This role primarily consists of fitting and assembling new machinery and other sub assemblies. Working with our R&D department, you will build to assembly drawing and then follow the various processes in order to get the machine into production.
You may also be required to assist with the production and modifications to existing machines as and when required, working in a timely and efficient manner to achieve build objectives.
This role also has the possibility of progression to Team Lead as we take on additional projects.
The Role:
Fitting and assembly of bespoke machinery containing: motors, pumps, gearboxes, rollers and bearings (including sub-assemblies)
Rectifying parts to fit
Commission and PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) machines to check for correct operation
Read and work from assembly drawings and Bill of Materials
Work to a high level of detail to ensure machines are produced to a quality standard
Use specialist tools to ensure correct set up and accuracy
Use of various power and hand tools to complete assembly tasks
Measure and set equipment to tight tolerances
Demonstrate the ability to work independently or as part of a team to support build objectives
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion
Mentoring and supporting apprentices
Comply with company standards regarding health and safety and other company guidelines/policies
Requirements:
Engineering Qualification (ONC/BTEC/NVQ) or QBE
Mechanical fitting / assembly experience
Workshop knowledge of fabrication, welding and machining (desirable)
Willingness to transfer and learn new skills as required for the role
Have good mechanical dexterity and hand / eye co-ordination
Own tools would be beneficial
Benefits:
4 Day working week (36 hours Monday to Thursday)
Varied start times between 06.00 - 07.00
Overtime available when required
Salary dependent on experience
