Job Title: Junior Mechanical Fitter

About the Role:

Connexus UK is recruiting on behalf of a well-established client in the power generation industry, based in Kilrea. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start or grow their mechanical career within a busy and supportive engineering workshop. The successful candidate will join a skilled team involved in the assembly and servicing of diesel and gas-powered generator systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the mechanical assembly of generator units and related components Support senior fitters with installation, maintenance, and servicing tasks Learn to fit engines, alternators, radiators, and other mechanical parts Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment Comply with health and safety procedures at all times

Key Requirements:

A strong interest in mechanical engineering or hands-on mechanical work Basic experience with tools or mechanical systems Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced team members Reliable, punctual, and hard-working Ability to work well as part of a team. Awareness of basic health and safety practices A relevant vocational qualification (e.g., Level 2 in Engineering or Mechanics) is desirable but not essential
