We are seeking a skilled fitter to join our friendly team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical fitting and be used to working in an Engineering environment on rail road equipment.
You will have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
Duties
Fitting and installing mechanical and hydraulic components to heavy plant and equipment
Capable of understanding hydraulic schematics
Work to fitted assembly drawings
To commit to punctual attendance for day - to - day work
Complying with all health and safety legislation and legal requirements is a priority. Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine the appropriate materials and methods for assembly.
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
A qualification (NVQ, HNC) in a related role
Good communication skills
Good time keeping
The ability to continue to learn and take on new tasks as and when presented
Being able to work flexibly as part of a team or on your own when required.
Ability to work under tight timescales and under pressure.
Previous experience working on machinery used in the rail industry would be beneficial but not essential.
Overtime rates
Time & half for hours worked Monday - Saturday.
Double time for hours worked Sunday.
Potential to work up to 20 hrs overtime and earn between 40 - 50k per annum.
