Excellent practical mechanical fitting skills (additional electrical skills beneficial)
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and instructions
Ability to operate manual machine tools preferred but not mandatory
IT skills (MS Office - Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel as a minimum)
Ability to work as part of a team
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Qualifications/Experience
BTEC Level 3 or equivalent
Experience of prototyping
Experience of small batch manufacturing/production environment
Involvement in the manufacture of electrical or rotating machines is desirable
Experience of lean manufacturing environment is desirable
Experience of winding/impregnation/assembly of high strength magnets is desirable
Main Duties
Machine builds; materials delivery to ready-for-test stage from engineering drawings
Small-batch production - builds, fitting, and assembly
Prototype builds
Build readiness - supporting design for manufacture, build processes, quality and safety
Control of build quality - inspection of dimensions and characteristics
Development and recording of manufacturing knowledge to support continuous improvement
Support of Stores function (control of incoming materials and production orders)
Recording of day-to-day activities - route cards and time sheets
General maintenance tasks for an efficient, safe and clean workshop environment

Working hours: 7.30am-4pm Monday to Thursday, 7.30am to 11.30am Friday
