About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter with welding ability to join our team on a self-employed subcontract basis for ongoing site-based industrial work.
The role involves mechanical maintenance, breakdown repairs and installations on industrial plant and machinery, with occasional site welding and fabrication as required.
This is an ongoing subcontract opportunity for the right person.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical fitting on industrial plant and machinery
Removal and replacement of: Bearings, shafts, chains, sprockets and gearboxes, motors, pumps and conveyor components
Planned maintenance and breakdown cover
Isolation and recommissioning of machinery
On-site welding and fabrication repairs (Mainly stick, MIG & occasionally TIG)
Working on conveyors, processing plant and static machinery
Working in line with RAMS and site safety requirements
Completing basic job reports and liaising with supervisors
Requirements:
Proven experience as a mechanical fitter in an industrial environment
Welding capability (MIG essential, Stick & TIG advantageous)
Experience working on conveyors, processing plant or manufacturing equipment
CSCS card or equivalent
IPAF / PASMA & Mobile plant tickets advantageous
Own tools
Full UK driving licence
UTR number and ability to workself-employed under CIS
Public liability insurance
