Hours: Monday-Friday, 07:30-16:00 (40 hours per week)
Contract: 3-month fixed term contract with potential to go permanent
Are you an experienced Mechanical Inspector looking for your next opportunity? We're supporting a leading engineering and manufacturing business in Woking who are looking for a skilled inspector to support their Quality and Machine Shop teams.
Mechanical Inspector Duties
You'll be responsible for inspecting a wide range of machined, cast, moulded and plated components, carrying out dimensional, visual and functional checks across all stages of the manufacturing process. This includes:
- Inspecting components and products using first-principle measurement techniques
- Creating CMM programmes and inspecting CNC-machined parts
- Conducting roving, inter-stage and final inspections
- Producing inspection documentation such as FAIRs and Control Plans
- Verifying supplier first shipments and high-risk supplied materials
- Updating the ERP system and providing feedback to internal teams
- Ensuring safe working practices and maintaining excellent housekeeping standards
- Minimum 3 years' experience in mechanical inspection within manufacturing
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing
- Experience using CMMs (e.g., Aberlink Axiom), non-contact measurement systems, and first-principles tools such as micrometers, verniers, height gauges, DTIs and slip gauges
- Ability to generate detailed First Article Inspection Reports and Control Plans
- Experience working to ISO 9001 standards (desirable)
- Mechanical Engineering qualification beneficial
- Good communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
