We are recruiting for a Mechanical Instrumentation Technician to supplement the field service team as a focal point/lead for the manufacturing installation/integration of Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Hydrogen Gas Control Systems.
you will act as a technical lead on projects and also as a part of a larger team for construction and commissioning scopes.
This is a unique opportunity to support all established and developing areas of engineering through Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Marine and Renewables.
The position is focused in the Tees Valley however there is a requirement to travel to support the development of these industries and the company's expectations for the growth of the Teesside Team.
Essential Experience, Qualifications and Competencies
NVQ Level 3 In Mechanical OR
Instrumentation Engineering.
ECITB - Installing and assembling SBT assemblies.
ECITB - Disassemble and reinstall SBT systems.
ECITB - Assemble and install cone & thread assemblies
Hands on experience in Mechanical / Hydraulic, Pneumatic or Instrumentation service industry.
Competent in Small Bore Tubing installation.
Ability to read and understand Hydraulic and Pneumatic schematics, P&ID's and GA's.
Experience in overhauling and testing of pumps, motors and control valves in the mechanical / Hydraulic sector
Hands on experience in fault finding / trouble shooting, servicing and maintenance of mechanical/ hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Hands on experience in mechanical bolt torquing and joint integrity
Good knowledge of hydraulic and instrument fittings and threads forms
Hydraulic accumulator pre - charging, maintenance and servicing
Computer proficient with knowledge in MS Office
Comfortable working away from home and being reactive with regards to customer requirements & time scales
Experience of working in a team (Small or Large) or independently.
Desirable Experience, Qualifications and Competencies
Diploma in Mechanical OR Instrumentation engineering
HNC Mechanical OR Instrumentation engineering
ECITB - Hydrostatic pressure testing of small-bore tubing assemblies
IOSH Working Safely
Experience in working in Oil and Gas, Marine and Petrochemical industries.
Knowledge and experience of working with high pressure gas management systems
Knowledge of the marine hydraulic systems sector
Commissioning of mechanical hydraulic pneumatic equipment
Hydraulic flushing and pressure testing of piping systems
Parker product knowledge.

Lead, coordinate, and mentor a team of mechanical and instrumentation technicians.
Plan, allocate, and oversee daily maintenance and project tasks to ensure safe and timely completion.
Provide technical guidance and ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and instrumentation systems.
Ensure equipment is operating efficiently, safely, and in line with manufacturer and regulatory specifications.
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce equipment downtime.
Support installation and commissioning of new mechanical and control systems.
Liaise with project engineers to review designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
Ensure quality assurance and documentation compliance for all new installations.
Promote and enforce a strong health and safety culture across all work activities.
Conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks, and ensure compliance with HSE and company requirements.
Maintain accurate maintenance, calibration, and safety records for audit and reporting purposes.
