About the Role

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Maintenance team as an Apprentice Mechanical Maintenance Technician. This role offers hands-on experience maintaining and repairing mechanical systems and equipment used in our manufacturing operations. You will work alongside experienced engineers while completing a nationally recognized apprenticeship standard.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in planned preventive maintenance and reactive repairs on mechanical equipment, including hydraulic systems, conveyors, and production machinery. Support fault diagnosis and troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Learn to interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals. Carry out routine inspections and lubrication tasks under supervision. Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used. Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times. Participate in off-the-job training and complete all coursework required for the apprenticeship.

Skills & Attributes

Strong interest in mechanical engineering and maintenance. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions. Willingness to learn and develop new skills. Basic understanding of mechanical principles (advantageous but not essential).

Qualifications

Minimum of 4x GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science. Eligibility to enroll in the

Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician (ST1426)

apprenticeship standard.
