We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our clients dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and longevity of our mechanical systems and equipment. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to maintenance.


Key Responsibilities

Hydraulics & Pneumatics: + Design, install, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems
+ Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic components
+ Conduct regular inspections and performance tests on hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
+ Optimise system efficiency and recommend improvements
Planned Maintenance: + Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules
+ Conduct regular inspections and assessments of mechanical equipment
+ Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, calibration, and parts replacement
+ Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment history
+ Identify potential issues before they become critical problems
Reactive Maintenance: + Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency situations
+ Diagnose and repair mechanical failures efficiently
+ Minimise downtime and production losses due to equipment malfunctions
+ Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations during repairs
Faultfinding and Troubleshooting: + Utilise advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify equipment issues
+ Analyse data and symptoms to determine root causes of mechanical problems
+ Develop and implement effective solutions to resolve complex technical issues
+ Document findings and solutions for future reference
Repairs: + Perform repairs on a wide range of mechanical equipment and systems
+ Replace worn or damaged components with precision and attention to detail
+ Fabricate and modify parts as needed to restore equipment functionality
+ Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications
Machine Start-up, Material Changes, and Plant Shutdown: + Execute machine start-up procedures safely and efficiently
+ Perform routine and non-routine material changes as required
+ Coordinate and carry out plant shutdown activities
+ Ensure proper equipment preparation and testing during start-up and shutdown processes
Documentation and Reporting: + Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance logs and repair records
+ Prepare comprehensive reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and improvement recommendations
+ Update technical documentation and equipment manuals as needed
Continuous Improvement: + Identify opportunities for improving maintenance processes and procedures
