Vacancy Name: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (HVAC Systems)

Location: Mobile role covering Bristol, Bath, and Taunton (BS, BS, TA postcodes)

Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week.





Responsibilities





We are looking for an experienced HVAC or Mechanical Engineer to join our growing engineering family here at Mitie. Your main responsibilities will be to maintain and repair a variety of heating and ventilation systems across our portfolio of properties located around Bristol, Bath, and occasionally Taunton. You will be required to provide a safe and effective planned and reactive maintenance service across the sites, ensuring all call outs for planned and reactive work are completed in line with SLAs and contractual requirements. Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


Maintenance and repair a variety of heating, ventilation, and water systems (AHUs, intake/extractor fans, thermal wheels, FCUs, booster sets, calorifiers etc). Conduct small works as and when required by your line manager - broken taps, water temperatures, boiler breakdowns, tea urns etc. Attend planned maintenance and reactive callouts in a timely manner and in line with SLAs and contractual obligations. Work to high standards of health and safety in line with H+S policies and legislation. Ensure all work-related documentation is recorded accurately and on time. Comfortable working at heights and with manual handling (preferably with certification) Provide a first-class maintenance and troubleshooting service to our customers, ensuring great customer service and communications skills throughout.



Requirements:





You should be capable of delivering the highest level of service for the client, answering queries, reporting any defects, and keeping them informed of site activities at the time of the service visit. You will also be required to complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time, keeping a log of inspection reports and remedial work.



You must hold a valid full driving licence and be IT literate. You should have the capability to perform manual tasks, including manual handling, working at heights and in confined spaces as well as a willingness to participate in the On-Call Rota. You must have good verbal and written communication and the ability to use a mobile device.



To be considered for the role, the ideal candidate would have the following:


Experience within a Maintenance/Facilities Management environment. NVQ level 3 or equivalent in mechanical engineering NVQ level 3 or equivalent in heating and ventilation. Manual handling certification Working at heights certification You should also have knowledge of Health & Safety, Permit to Work procedures, and safe systems of working. Experience of assisting in training staff members and managing small groups of contractors would be advantageous but not essential.
