Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role:
This position is a
key role within the Lathe Area Department
, responsible for maintaining 16 Multispindle Lathe Machines and associated equipment that are critical to the company's production line. Working in a fast-paced environment, you'll be part of a dedicated team ensuring production remains consistent and efficient.
Whether you're highly experienced or looking to build your career further, full on-the-job training will be provided, with opportunities to progress within the business for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and support 16 Multispindle Lathe Machines and ancillary equipment.
Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out necessary repairs.
Strip down machinery to replace mechanical wear parts (e.g. bearings, belts, etc.).
Log maintenance tasks and updates using in-house software systems.
Support external Service Engineers during site visits.
Recommend and manage spare parts inventory for continuous production.
Contribute to process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
Provide maintenance support across other departments as required.
What We're Looking For:
Experience in a Mechanical Maintenance role within a production or manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience with production machinery--lathe machine experience preferred.
Proficient with general workshop tools and equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude; confident with strip-down and rebuild tasks.
Excellent teamwork and self-motivation.
Willingness to work flexibly, including out-of-hours support when needed.
Effective communicator - able to liaise across all levels of the business.
