We have an opportunity within our Maintenance department for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, reporting to the Maintenance Manager here at our food production facility in Caernarfon, North Wales.
Main responsibilities include:
Carrying out predetermined inspections on essential equipment ensuring the equipment operates as intended and is maintained to the required standards.
Working efficiently to ensure all planned and unplanned electrical/mechanical engineering work is completed in a safe and timely manner.
Conducting continuous monitoring of production lines to identify and implement improvements and through your activities minimising maintenance downtime.
Carrying our preventative maintenance on equipment.
Assisting in the daily delivery of the production plan.
Undertaking line start-ups, shutdowns and changeovers with the production teams to reduce potential risks and downtime.
Investigating appropriate solutions to reoccurring or significant issues which may arise.
Having a proactive approach to improving safety and GMP standards within the area of responsibility.
Undertake and contribute to projects relating to reduction of energy costs across all areas.
About you:
You must hold a relevant engineering qualification, ideally having 2 - 3 yrs. proven engineering experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Time-served/apprentice trained would be preferable.
Relevant work experience in a food production environment with a solid grounding in food handling safe practices would be an advantage.
An electrical qualification would be an advantage, as would experience or knowledge of pneumatics and electronic controls.
Knowledge and experience of safely operating gas fired steam boilers, with the ability to obtain qualifications under the Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme (BOAS), if not already done so.
Must possess strong communication skills both written and verbal.
IT Literate in Microsoft
An awareness of HACCP, IOSH and COSHH would be an advantage.
Must be able to problem solve and fault-find. Ideally able to interpret schematic diagrams.
Must be able to work effectively as part of a team, individually and on own initiative.
