Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our clients fantastic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production facilities by maintaining, repairing, and optimising mechanical and electrical systems. This position requires a proactive approach to maintenance, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Preventative Maintenance:

Conduct routine preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.

Fault Diagnosis and Repair:

Diagnose and repair faults on production machinery and plant equipment promptly and efficiently.

Emergency Response:

Respond promptly to breakdowns and ensure minimal downtime to maintain production schedules.

Fault-Finding:

Carry out electrical and mechanical fault-finding using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.

Equipment Installation:

Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring proper integration with existing systems.

Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report findings to management and relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

Preferably NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Experience:

Ideally 10 years in a maintenance engineering role in a Precision Engineering Environment.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including both manual and CNC manufacturing machines (grinding machines), hydraulics, pneumatics, and motors. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
