LondonEnergyoperates the second largest waste contract in the UK, handling and processing nearly 750,000 tonnes of London's waste every year. We have a dedicated team of people working across our various North London sites, making a positive difference to the environment and the local community.
By processing household waste at our facility, we produce enough waste from energy to power 80,000 homes every year and recycle 70% of items through our Reuse and Recycling Centres.
About the Role
We are looking for someone to manage and support safety, productivity, and quality. You will be responsible for leading and supervising the Mechanical Maintenance Team and Mechanical and Civil Contractors. This will cover the repair, maintenance, installation and commissioning of equipment and plant associated with LondonEnergy.
Responsibilities:
To develop and review Safe Systems of Work
To identify faults and arrange / carryout repairs on all mechanical plant.
Ensure the Planned maintenance of equipment is carried out in accordance with the specifications of the job.
Carry out project work as required to the correct standards.
Ensure the completion of all relevant documentation and reports.
To take particular responsibility for a designated area of the plant and lead in it's maintenance objectives but at the same time keep abreast of the needs of other supervisors' areas in order to support and cover them.
To supervise and support the day-to-day work of the mechanical maintenance team
To monitor, check and correct all time and attendance entries for the department's staff.
Requirements
You must be able to demonstrate considerable experience in problem solving techniques / approaches in technical applications related to power generation or process plant operations. Direct experience in the repair of the following areas of plant would be beneficial:
Water Tube Boilers and Steam Turbines
Pumps
Cranes (including overhead grabbing cranes)
Hydraulic systems and Conveyor systems
Compressors
Fans
Abatement Plant (e..g. precipitators, Flue Gas Treatment (FGT) plant, Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) etc.
