HG Offsite Solutions are a modular bathroom POD manufacturer, working with our parent company HG Construction to deliver quality and reliable goods across the UK. We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Manufacturing Manager to lead our manufacturing operations with energy and precision.

Job Summary:

The successful applicant will oversee and manage projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical systems and project management, demonstrating exceptional leadership and supervisory skills.

This role requires a comprehensive understanding of all mechanical production activities, ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective manufacturing processes, as well as managing teams, optimising workflows, maintaining machinery, and collaborating with design, quality, and supply chain teams to meet production goals and quality standards.

This is a Primarily plant-based role with time spent on the production floor, but may require occasional travel to suppliers, customers, or other company facilities.

Key Responsibilities:



Plan, organise, and manage daily manufacturing operations for mechanical components and assemblies. Ensure production schedules are met and products meet design and quality specifications. Monitor workflow, productivity, and process efficiency, implementing improvements where necessary. Oversee maintenance and calibration of manufacturing equipment and tools. Develop and implement process improvements, automation, and lean manufacturing initiatives. Identify and troubleshoot mechanical or process issues to minimize downtime. Supervise and develop production employees. Conduct performance evaluations, provide technical guidance, and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Coordinate training and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to maintain ISO and industry-specific standards. Implement corrective actions for quality deviations and ensure adherence to design specifications. Maintain documentation of processes, inspection reports, and maintenance records. Manage budgets for manufacturing operations, materials, and equipment maintenance. Analyse production costs and identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Coordinate with procurement and logistics to ensure timely availability of materials and components. Collaborate with R&D, design, and project teams to transition new products into production. Provide feedback on manufacturability and design improvements. Participate in strategic planning and contribute to facility upgrades and capacity planning.

Education:



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).

Experience:



7+ years in mechanical manufacturing or production management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Proven experience with machining, assembly, or mechanical systems manufacturing.

Skills:



Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (CNC machining, welding, assembly, etc.) Proficiency in CAD/CAM and manufacturing software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ERP systems). Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
