We are seeking a time-served

Mechanical Production Engineer

to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our production machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining equipment performance, addressing mechanical and electrical issues at root cause level, and implementing right-first-time fixes to prevent recurrence.

In this role you will get to:



Perform both reactive and planned maintenance on a wide range of production machinery to ensure maximum uptime and reliability. Rapidly identify and resolve faults, focusing on eliminating root causes and delivering first-time-fix solutions. Develop and implement preventive maintenance routines to reduce unplanned downtime. Support production teams with technical assistance and advise on machinery best practices. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including OEE, 5S, and process optimisation projects. Contribute to the safe working environment by adhering to and promoting all relevant HSE standards. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on new equipment installations, upgrades, and layout changes.

We're looking for people who are

experienced within mechanical engineering with 4+ years time served in a maintenance engineering role within a production or manufacturing setting. You will also demonstrate:

Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills with a focus on root cause identification and resolution. Proactive, "right-first-time" approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. Excellent understanding of machine safety standards and maintenance best practices. Confident communicator and team player with strong organisational skills.

Desirable:



Background in FMCG, horticultural, or food/agricultural manufacturing. Familiarity with Lean tools and techniques (5S, Kaizen, TPM). Health & Safety certification (IOSH, NEBOSH or similar).
