About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our expanding team based in

Chester or Aberdeen

. In this key role, you will be instrumental in managing and executing mechanical engineering aspects of diverse projects within the energy sector. You will be involved from project initiation through to completion, working closely with our experienced team and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects, including planning, design (by 3rd parties), procurement, installation, and commissioning.

Ensure adherence to project design specifications and timelines within budget, to established quality standards (ISO 9001:2015).

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure the successful delivery of projects (EC&I engineers, contractors and project managers) and end-clients.

Conduct site assessments as required to determine project feasibility and confirm technical requirements.

Oversee installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and designs, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

??Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring adherence to timelines and financial targets.
?Specify, and select mechanical equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
Review 3rd party designs to ensure correct specifications, deliverables and relevant additional assurance requirements are in place;
?Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and effective collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
?Oversee the work of contractors and site teams, ensuring quality workmanship, adherence to safety procedures, and project progress.
?Conduct site assessments and gather technical requirements to inform project design and execution.
?Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing any potential risks or issues proactively.
?Ensure all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and complies with company and client requirements.
?Provide technical expertise and support to project teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.

Professional Engineer (PE) Status or relevant certification

Proficiency in relevant software packages, such as CAD (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and project management tools.

Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, design standards, and relevant industry codes and regulations.

Demonstrable experience (e.g., 5+ years) in mechanical project engineering or a similar role within the energy sector (oil & gas experience is highly advantageous).

Proven ability to manage projects effectively with minimal supervision, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

A strong commitment to safety and quality.

Desirable (to be discussed)

?Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it.
?Experience with integrity management principles and practices within mechanical systems.
?Familiarity with relevant UK and international standards for the energy industry.
?Experience in site-based project execution and management.
