We're looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Thames Water framework, working on sites in the Northern Thames Valley.
Location: Northern Thames Valley, Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire/Hertfordshire - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required.
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact on essential water infrastructure? As a Mechanical Project Engineer within our Wastewater Asset Assurance Programme (WAAP), you'll collaborate with our Thames Water team to deliver quality-focused MEICA projects that maintain critical systems serving millions of people. Initial sites will be Stewkley and Little Marlow in Buckinghamshire.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you'll be working within the WAAP team, supporting them in delivering mechanical installations that meet Thames Water's exacting standards. Your day to day will include:
Leading on mechanical package selection and installation, ensuring alignment with Thames Water Asset standards and WIMES specifications
Collaborating with the electrical project engineer to coordinate integrated solutions
Supervising supply chain partners to maintain quality standards and timely delivery
Managing the commissioning process for mechanical plant installations
Promoting a 'Right First Time' culture while capturing lessons learned and best practices
What are we looking for?
This role of Mechanical Project Engineer is great for you if:
You hold BEng/ONC/HNC/BTEC qualifications in mechanical engineering
You have some experience in the water industry, particularly with wastewater systems
You're confident reviewing RAMS and understand risks associated with process plant installations
You possess strong problem-solving skills and enjoy collaborative working environments
You hold a full UK driving licence and relevant safety certifications (CSCS, SSSTS)
