About the Role
We're looking for an experienced
Mechanical Project Engineer
to oversee the delivery of a mechanical fit-out on a major
rail-side infrastructure project
. This role is offered on a
consultancy basis
and requires strong technical expertise, rail industry knowledge, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate all aspects of the mechanical fit-out works.
Ensure all engineering activities meet
rail safety and quality standards
.
Provide project oversight and technical guidance to contractors and stakeholders.
Support compliance with relevant industry standards and project specifications.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a
Mechanical Project Engineer
, ideally within the
rail sector
.
Knowledge or experience as a
Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE)
or familiarity with the
Permanent Way
(rail track infrastructure).
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and project delivery in a rail environment.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Comfortable working on a
consultant basis
(1-2 days per week).
