Salary: 55,000 - 60,000 plus car/allowance and benefits
An exciting opportunity for an Mechanical Project Engineer to join our dynamic project team. Based primarily at our Walsall Office, you will oversee a diverse portfolio of projects within the Southern and Central Frameworks. This role presents an exciting chance to contribute to projects ranging from 250k to 8M, partnering with leading water companies.
Onsite are part of SSI within the South Staffordshire Group - the 3000 employee-strong group behind South Staffs and Cambridge water and a host of other businesses that feed into the utilities sector. What's the role:
Monitoring budgets to ensure adherence to allocated allowances, employing advanced cost management techniques to prevent any exceeding financial limits.
Demonstrating exceptional client relationship management skills, maintaining open and constructive communication channels to ensure client satisfaction and trust are upheld throughout the project's lifecycle.
Collaborating effectively in crafting and executing project management strategies, assisting with program generation, monitoring progress, and delivering comprehensive progress reports, all while aligning with industry best practices.
Efficiently generate and implement procurement schedules, demonstrating strong coordination abilities with subcontractors and suppliers to optimize the project's supply chain and enhance overall project efficiency.
Employing a high level of technical expertise to closely collaborate with the design department, ensuring the development of safe, practical, and maintainable designs for mechanical projects. Additionally, adeptly create and implement meticulous quality plans to meet and achieve project standards and objectives.
What you will need:
Prior experience in the water industry is highly desirable, demonstrating a solid understanding of industry-specific challenges, standards, and practices.
Possess an HNC/HND or equivalent degree in engineering, showcasing a strong foundation in engineering principles and knowledge.
Good understanding of Construction, Design, and Management (CDM) regulations, with comprehensive knowledge of health and safety protocols, emphasizing a commitment to safety throughout project execution.
A background in mechanical engineering is preferred.
Hold a valid UK driving license, enabling flexibility and mobility for site visits and project-related travel as required.
