We're supporting a well-established building services contractor in their search for an experienced
Mechanical Project Manager
to lead the mechanical installation package on a major project at
Gatwick Airport
.
This long-term scheme is set to run until
2030
, offering excellent continuity of work and the chance to grow with a key client. With further phases and future projects already in the pipeline, this role presents a strong platform for career development beyond the initial Gatwick delivery.
The Role
As Mechanical Project Manager, you'll take responsibility for all aspects of mechanical delivery on-site, including:
Managing subcontractors and direct labour teams across HVAC, public health, and associated services
Coordinating closely with the client, principal contractor, and wider project teams
Overseeing works through installation, testing, commissioning and handover
Driving programme delivery and ensuring technical compliance with airport and building services standards
Managing health and safety, site logistics and quality assurance
Attending progress meetings and maintaining clear communication across all stakeholders
Reporting on progress, risk, and commercial updates to senior management
? What We're Looking For
Experience delivering mechanical works on large-scale MEP or infrastructure projects
Previous airport project experience is ideal but not essential -- rail, healthcare, commercial, or public sector experience also welcome
A sound understanding of building services coordination and complex site logistics
Strong leadership skills with the ability to work under pressure in a live or high-security environment
SMSTS, CSCS, and relevant mechanical qualifications
