Job Overview:



The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations on the construction site, ensuring that work is carried out safely, on schedule, and to the required standards. This hands-on role involves supervising trades, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining site documentation.

Key Responsibilities:



Assign tasks to Advanced Craftsmen and other employees under your supervision Redeploy team members as needed to achieve the optimum productivity including on-site batch production and fabrication. Determine the most effective methods for specific operations and instruct employees accordingly. Ensure that any variation work does not proceed without authorisation from the office Ensure day work sheets are populated and submitted daily where required Maintain site contract control procedure. Requisition and progress supply of necessary equipment and materials to other employees when required. Ensure all employees take all reasonable steps to safeguard, maintain and properly use company tools and materials. Maintain daily liaison and programme of work with main contractor and other subcontractors. Inspect and review sub-contractor performance. Monitor and report progress against agreed programme. Measure and record daily work progress. Inspect work carried out by employees for quality, progress and satisfactory completion. Review weekly progress against programme and identify any deviations. Verify timesheets and job cards and despatch them promptly to the office. Notify the Site Manager or Engineer of anticipated delays likely to affect progress. Identify and document causes of delays to work accurately. Work closely with commercial team to provide information for cost variation investigations when necessary. Forecast labour requirements. Maintain company standards of discipline, workmanship and safety across all site operations. Ensure compliance with the National Agreement and all relevant conditions of employment. Take accountability for all company labour on site. Ensure that all work, whether executed by direct employees or sub-contractors, complies with project drawings and specifications. Organise, supervise and record all required tests and inspections (e.g. pressure testing) during contract execution. Attend site meetings as required by the employer Promote and enforce safe working methods among all personnel under your control. Oversee testing on completion, including compliance with specifications, snagging and operational handing over as directed and final site clearance Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the employer. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements.

Skills and Experience:



Hands on experience in mechanical and piping disciplines with solid practical knowledge of site operations. Clear communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong leadership skills Sound judgment informed by extensive practical knowledge and experience. Agile, responsive and able to perform under pressure. Able to handle conflict and resolve differences of opinion. Heightened cultural awareness - able to relate and build relationships with all. Strong interpersonal skills Ability to work with people at various levels from shop floor to senior management SSSTS qualification CCNSG/CSCS OR EMSS certification

Rates:



PAYE - NAECI Categorised Rates (2025) - Grade 7

Basic: 24.68/hr OT1: 34.52/hr OT2: 44.38/hr IBA Payment - 2.37/hour Travel & Accommodation - As per NAECI

Overtime



Monday to Thursday- OT1 after 8 hrs Friday OT1 after 6 hrs Sat- OT1 first 4 hrs, OT2 all other hours (generally 4) Sun- All hours OT2

Working Hours



Average 108+ hours over 11 day period. Overtime available.

Week 1: Mon-Thurs: 11 hrs | Fri-Sun: 8.5 hrs Week 2: Mon-Thurs: 11 hrs | Fri-Sun: Off
