Role Overview

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Site Supervisor to play a crucial role in organizing and coordinating on-site activities. In this position, you will lead and oversee teams of Mechanical Engineering trade professionals on-site. Your responsibilities will encompass tracking and documenting daily site activities and progress, ensuring safe work practices, and driving efficiency in project delivery.

Mechanical Site Supervisor Responsibilities

Working closely with your project team, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring Safety: Create a safe workplace environment, establish safe systems of work, oversee competent personnel, and promote a culture of safety.
  • Supervision: Lead the delivery of work packages and supervise activities on-site.
  • Activity Tracking: Maintain detailed daily activity logs for all site-related work.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with various trade professionals to organize new work areas and ensure smooth coordination.
  • Material Management: Liaise with sub-contractors regarding materials orders and lead times.
  • Team Management: Manage direct site staff, provide direction to designated work areas, and develop team capacity.
  • Site Meetings: Attend regular site meetings with site management to provide progress updates.
  • Technical Support: Offer technical support to the trade teams when needed.
  • Handover: Ensure that all work areas are clear and ready for handover.
  • Team Development: Foster the development and growth of your teams.
Necessary Requirements for the Mechanical Site Supervisor

To excel in this role, you should possess:
  • A senior trades qualification or equivalent, coupled with at least 5 years of site experience, ideally in pharmaceutical/medical device, commercial, industrial, or data center projects.
  • A strong understanding of site activities and their planning and coordination.
  • General knowledge of Mechanical, HVAC, Building Services, Utilities, Process Piping Systems, etc.
  • The ability to interpret schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • A track record of success as a Trade Leader.
  • Familiarity with materials ordering processes and lead times.
  • Strong client focus and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational abilities.
  • Influencing skills and a decisive, action-oriented approach.
  • A team player mentality with attention to detail and record-keeping capabilities.
  • A results-oriented mindset with the resilience to work under pressure.
