Technical Buyer

We are actively seeking energetic and diligent Technical buyer to join our highly skilled team.

You will play a key role in the procurement of mechanical technical plant and materials selection and buying for all live jobs, assisting and reporting to the Mechanical Technical Procurement Manager & Head of Technical Procurement. You will work closely with our Procurement and Accounts teams in ensuring the smooth transition of all technical orders from requesting and reviewing quotes to issuing and gaining approval of Technical Submittals, keeping budgets updated and the wider group on progress of technical buying through trackers and progress meetings.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse & establish cost parameters against budgets for purchases Create and maintain good relationships with manufactures/suppliers Make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment Maintain records of purchases, pricing library, and other important data Review and analyse all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options when required Pull together Technical Submittals. Update the wider team through trackers and other technical documents and supplier documents. Ensure that the products are delivered on time Maintain and update a list of suppliers, delivery times, and mitigate against delays Work with team members and Mechanical Technical Procurement Manager to complete duties as needed Attend Project Meetings when required

Experience & Knowledge

Essential

Industry qualification or at least 2 years' experience in a technical role Minimum GCSEs in English and Maths (grades A-C or equivalent)

Abilities and Skills

Essential

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel Ability to negotiate, establish, and bring deals over the line. Excellent organisation and planning skills, ability to work to deadlines. Managing your own time effectively. Problem solver. Accurate and precise with attention to detail Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels Goal-oriented, organised team player
