The Role:



As part of our ongoing growth, we are actively recruiting a Mechanical Technician to join our Mechanical Production team, dealing with all mechanical aspects of Metrol's equipment and systems.

Main Duties:



Undertake build, repair, and maintenance of downhole mechanical assemblies. Perform test build of new equipment; perform prototype testing. Be competent to work on mechanical equipment and systems in the downhole sector of the oil industry. Read drawings, interpret work instructions and perform the work to time and quality. Be able to carry out surveys and pre-fit examinations of equipment. Advise on ordering of equipment for new tools and development work. Carry out function and pressure testing. Carry out gas testing. Participate in design reviews. Support internal customers on technical queries. Maintain build files & related documentation. Support operations by working at client sites (onshore and offshore). Be competent to use general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the role of a mechanical fitter.

Required Skills & Experience:



Time served apprenticeship or equivalent. Five years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Tool Dresser. Oilfield downhole tools. Ideally has hydrostatic and gas testing experience.
