About the Role



As a Mechanical Technician at our Rig Aftermarket site in Montrose, you will adopt a customer service mindset, supporting the efficient management of your workspace and the wider production environment. You will be responsible for disassembling, inspecting, rebuilding, and testing a range of NOV Rig Technologies equipment. This role requires a focus on timely and quality assembly and testing, proactive problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities



Disassemble, inspect, rebuild, and test NOV Rig Technologies equipment. Read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and technical documents. Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, vernier gauges, and dial indicators. Perform equipment FATs in line with NOV procedures. Complete all QA documentation including QA plans, work scopes, route carts, inspection and test reports. Support facility maintenance tasks and contribute to workplace cleanliness. Identify, document, and rectify product defects. Conduct root cause analysis and support NCR reporting. Participate in daily team briefs and actively contribute to continuous improvement. Maintain workflow efficiency by correctly staging components. Adhere to all company HSE, quality, and housekeeping standards. Support key performance metrics (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Engagement).

Qualifications & Skills



Proven mechanical technician experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and technical documents Competent in the use of engineering measuring tools Understanding of QA documentation and reporting Familiarity with problem-solving tools such as Fishbone and 5 Whys Ability to work within defined processes and drive improvements Strong time management and prioritisation skills
