Job Description

The successful candidate will be required to organise and execute preventative, scheduled and breakdown maintenance activities within the mechanical areas throughout the plants, so that plant safety, availability and efficiency is maximised and in keeping with the objectives of the Engineering department.




Primary responsibilities




To problem solve on equipment and systems across the AGCCE manufacturing production plants, support services and determine/implement the actions required so that re-occurrence is prevented. To undertake scheduled maintenance activities as determined by the requirements of the CMMS. To carry out predictive maintenance surveys and record results, ensuring timely corrective actions are taken, to maximise plant safety and availability. This will necessitate the interrogation of the history of the assets within the jobholder's control. Prepare, implement and commission minor modifications to plant systems (on occasions without the benefit of a formal design), which meet the requirements of Plant Regulation S34. To liaise with equipment manufacturers, and organise/supervise the work of specialist contractors to enable the overhaul and maintenance of plant equipment to maximise plant safety and availability. To ensure that the maintenance history of assets is recorded within the CMMS system. This will necessitate the jobholder accessing and entering data onto Maximo and will include the use of spares, time allocation, costs etc. Undertake the writing of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS/SOP).



Qualifications and experience




Qualified to HNC level or equivalent Time served in mechanical engineering dealing in the following areas; piping systems, compressors, pumps, valves, relief systems, pressure systems, general engineering equipment, heat exchanges, slinging & lifting, fabrication and inspection methodology etc. A high level of analytical problem solving ability is essential. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawing and manuals. Experience of working on a chemical plant is desirable. Working within hazardous environments is desirable.
