Mechanical Test Technician - Night Shift

At John Crane Slough we are currently looking for a Gas Seals Test Equipment Technician for our night shift team (Monday to Thursday).

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing the Gas Seal test equipment for the team, in accordance with the required company quality/productivity standards whilst ensuring company Health and Safety procedures are complied with.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare test equipment for test & storage of test equipment
• Prepare test equipment and documents for shipment to other John Crane sites
• Strip and inspection of Test equipment post-test
• Complete all relevant documentation, SAP information, Visual Factory compliance
• Complete weekly 5S audits and actions & participate in CI activities within the area
• Train other technicians when required
• Participate in daily SPQCD meetings (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People)

The Individual

• We ideally require candidates to be apprenticeship trained with relevant qualifications (for example craft apprentice, BTEC Level 3, NVQ level 3, or City & Guilds equivalent)
• The ability to read technical drawings is a must-have.
• Assembly / Test experience of Gas Seals is an advantage.
• B1 Counterbalance Lift truck license is a plus.
• Good IT Skills - SAP, MS office.
• Good understanding of Continuous Improvement and associated tools.
• High level of drive and willingness to learn new skills.
• Good communication skills with internal/external customers.
