Mechanical Workshop Superintendent - Venator, Hartlepool

Mechanical Superintendent

The company (Altrad) has a requirement for an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to deliver overhaul of a wide range of rotary equipment in the workshop at Venator.

Reporting into the site contract manager, client workshop lead and working within a team of engineering professionals, the candidates will be responsible for safe delivery of overhauling plant equipment in the site workshop.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide input during design and planning phase
  • Build relationships with the site ops team and be visible in the field
  • Actively participate in design and construction reviews;
  • Initiate and monitor site activities including involvement in weekly labour allocations;
  • Provide daily timesheets to the site admin team
  • Use of SAP (training provided)
  • Review and approval of developed quality build plans
  • Ensure all paperwork is in place prior to the execution of the works including facilitation of risk assessments and quality build plans.
  • Liaising with the Ops team to ensure permits and operational controls are in place;
  • Monitoring workshop progress and efficiency/productivity;
  • Proactive coordination of the site/workshop activities with diligent control of any modifications and changes through the management of change process, in compliance with site standards and current legislation;
  • Analysis of plant breakdowns with input to providing solutions for issues;
  • Prioritisation of reactive emergent work requested by operations;
  • Contribute to JSA, risks reviews and risk assessments;
  • Support the completions process including PSSR walk downs and punchlist items;
  • Feeding back daily and weekly progress to the site planner.
Competency Requirements
  • Time served and NVQ educated in relevant Engineering Discipline;
  • Rotary experience
  • Extensive experience of site activities in Oil & Gas, PetroChem or other regulated industry;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and team working skills.
