Job Overview


We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical principles and demonstrate proficiency in design and analysis. This role involves working on various projects, from concept through to production, ensuring that all engineering solutions meet the required specifications and quality standards.

You will be a member of the team responsible for Jig design and manufacturing optimization for both new and existing products. You will need to work with the engineering team during product development to identify methods of volume manufacture that can scale inline, with business growth.

This is not a conventional role, you will be tasked with solving interesting problems with no pre-existing solutions. We are looking for someone who with a strong work ethic and the drive to succeed. Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding start-up atmosphere with a team but also independently.

Responibilities



You will have a range of skills from CAD to Coding. You will be able to prototype ideas rapidly, consult with management and operators to refine designs quickly, find out what works and saves time and/or money and what doesn't. You are comfortable with rapid iteration and not worried about failure. You will be comfortable with writing software. You can build simple electronic machines to solve repetitive tasks. Comfortable with pneumatic's to apply force where required. Must be able to use your initiative to research, learn & solve problems

Preferred Skills & Experience



3+ Years of experience designing jigs/tools/things to solve interesting problems Comfortable with a variety of workshop tools, such as bench drills, and a variety of hand tools. Can work with 3D printers, CNC cutters and metal forming tools (press brake etc) Can draft in Solidworks or similar package Ability to manage multiple tasks and self-organise with Experience in Agile Methodology Desirable Software/Tools Experience Solidworks or similar CAD package A good quality of both written & spoken communication
